Testimonial / Bio
I was born in the city of Repentigny (Quebec), Canada. I was an only child, however, all my childhood I lived just behind my Cuban uncle and aunt. I spent a lot of time with their son. He was like a big brother to me. He regularly organized all kinds of activities and small trips with his friends and would bring me along. We had a lot of good times together. The moments I spent with him impacted my childhood in a very positive way, along with all the varied trips and enriching activities I did with my parents. I have a very good memory of my youth which was overall very joyful.
Here is my story
When I was a child my parents often took me to the Catholic Church. One day, I asked them why we were going there because I found it boring. They told me that they wanted to give me a spiritual basis. What left an impression on me from a very early age was the importance of believing in God (Jesus) and the importance of prayer.
So when I was young, I watched various Jesus movies with much passion, especially during the Easter period. I remember wanting to be like Jesus. I often had dreams that I saw myself in other countries helping people with a group of people. I had a strong conviction in my heart that one day I would heal people by the laying on of hands and I even shared this with my mother.
At school, I was a very shy child. Sometimes I even stuttered. However, despite all this, I was a person who listened to the other kids and defended them from the other bullies at school. I was like a guardian in the schoolyard. Often times the bullies were afraid of me and would change their behavior.
In short, some children liked me, some were scared of me and others persecuted me. I was often excluded because I was different. The other children often rejected me and teased me which was very hurtful since I was a sensitive child.
One day at school, I asked God: "Why is this happening? Why do I need to live like this?" As the protective type in the schoolyard, I was suffering a lot inside since I did not know how to defend myself from the kids who would continuously tease me.
Then one day an angel appeared to me in the schoolyard (a woman with long shiny blond hair dressed in white). The angel said to me: "You will understand one day. It's all in preparation for your future".
From childhood to adult life, I believed in God and prayed to Him daily. I would spend lots of time just contemplating His creation and being thankful.
Most of my life before I came to know the Lord, I faced many disappointments in relationships, whether it be with my family members, my neighbors, my friends, my colleagues, etc. I experienced a lot of sadness seeing people close to me unfaithful in their marriages, unreliable, not keeping their word or commitments and even ridiculing me. With all this, I ended up developing a lot of bitterness, anger, resentment and sadness on the inside of me.
I believed in God, but I didn't know Him personally and hence I didn't have a relationship with Him either. God always felt so far away.
When I was 27, a Haitian friend from college invited me to go to Christian church on Easter celebration weekend. On that Sunday April 11, 2004, I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. This was my “born again” experience as described in the Bible (John 3:3). At that moment, I felt the Holy Spirit 's presence and knew that He was now living inside of me. I began to experience His presence and healing power working through my hands.
That same year, I started dating a very nice man but he was not a Christian. After a while, I realized that I was not happy with him since we did not share the same faith and love for the Lord. After 3 years together, I finally put an end to this relationship.
After one year of praying and asking the Lord to send me a man of God, I met my husband Gaetan at the age of 35 on September 4, 2009 in the Yukon Territory in Northern Canada.
From that point forward, God began to act intensely and powerfully in my life. I grew spiritually and was touched by Jesus again through the baptism of the Holy Spirit and a completely new joy inside me resurfaced.
Due to my previous relationship, I had lost my passion for the Lord. However, in this new relationship with Gaetan, it allowed me to reconcile my relationship with myself and with my Heavenly Father as well. Glory to God!
The beginning of my restoration
The Lord used my husband to completely heal my heart from past disappointments and to free it from all bitterness, anger, sadness, etc. We both experienced two very intense years of internal healing and we cried many tears together.
Through this process, I began to experience the power of forgiveness towards myself and others through God's unconditional love. I have developed a deep daily intimacy with God and a high level of spiritual sensitivity with my gift of discernment from the Lord.
Also by reading the Bible, the Holy Spirit was able to cast down many false beliefs I had related to the Bible, God and false religions such as “New Age”. This was all so liberating for me.
Gaetan and I were married on October 1, 2011 at the Evangelical Yukon Bible Fellowship Church, located in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. On July 21, 2012 we renewed our wedding vows in Quebec with family.
For a number of years now, the Lord has been using us together to bring healing to the brokenhearted (both physically and emotionally) as well as bringing freedom through deliverance. In addition, God uses me through praise & worship dance ministry as well as through prayer & intercession.
We have been doing missionary work for five years now and have seen God's hand work in our lives and the lives of others in mighty ways. We feel very privileged and honored to be able to serve Him in this manner.
1. How did you develop this passion for Lost Souls?
Nancy:
The Lord has placed it in our hearts to evangelize people in the same way as Jesus and his disciples did. Since our lives were impacted and transformed by Jesus, this gives us this thirst to share the Gospel message with the lost so they can be reconciled back to God.
From the beginning of my relationship with my husband, the Lord revealed to us that He had united us for a very specific reason and mission and that was to serve Him as a couple
and to bring a multitude of souls from various nations into His Kingdom. And since then, this seed has grown strongly in both of us.
2. What event or circumstance led you to evangelize in Mexico?
Nancy: Before going to Mexico, we crossed Canada by car going from Quebec to British Columbia. During this trip, the Lord put it on my heart to evangelize all along the way. We ended up in the city of Kelowna and worked there for a few months before leaving again at the end of June 2017 for a 2-week missionary training in the United States (city of Tennessee). This training was given by Network International of Christian Schools (NICS). Afterwards, we flew to Mexico. In short, we evangelized in Canada, the U.S. and later in Mexico. I was also a member of ShareWord Global Canada / Les Gédéons for a few years.
3. Why Mexico more than any other country?
Nancy: At the age of 12, I came to Cancun, Mexico for the first time with my parents on a vacation. During this short 2-week trip my parents and I faced hardships. My mother and I were sick for the first week so we stayed at the hotel almost the whole time. Then the second week, we took a boat to visit a neighboring island. We were caught for 2 hours in a big storm caused by the tail end of a hurricane. Huge waves were slamming into the boat. On several occasions it almost capsized and one of the masts broke in two. Finally, the storm subsided and we arrived on the island safely. Despite these bad experiences, I didn't want to leave Mexico and felt at home there. From this trip, God placed a deep love for this country in my heart.
For over thirty years, I had Mexico regularly on my mind. Then one day the Lord clearly showed me that my husband and I would go on a mission's trip there and that Mexico would be the first foreign country we would go to before going to other nations. He showed me that Mexico would be our training ground to prepare us for the other international missions He would take us on abroad.
4. How did you discover Mexico and since when?
Nancy: In 2016, after more than 6 months of intensive research on the Internet to find a school, a door opened to go to Mexico. It was therefore in 2017, that we came to Mexico to work as
missionaries in an English-speaking Christian school in Atizapán de Zaragoza located north of Mexico City. This school was associated with Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). This organization now includes 15 schools across 13 different countries on 5 continents. For a year we worked there as full-time teachers. Gaétan taught various subjects (politics, history, geography, physical education, etc.) at the high school level. I taught various subjects to kindergarten and 1st graders, as well as music and dance to all the elementary students at my school.
For my part, almost every morning on the way to school I would evangelize people by handing out Bible verses and offering prayer. During this time, we were under the covering of the "La Casa de mi padre" ministry with Apostle Isaac Cuevas from Mexico City. On weekends, we would get on the bus and take the metro to go to this church which was a 2 hour trip. At times Gaétan was invited to preach and I would dance for the Lord and together we would pray for people at the end of the service. From there, Gaétan was invited to preach at other churches.
5. How was this Ministry built?
Nancy: The ministry has been built over the last ten years. First of all, it took place in our own personal lives. In the Yukon (northern Canada), Gaétan was used for 2 years to heal my own heart with the help of the Holy Spirit. I started dancing for God in a Christian Church and then started training other women in the church how to do “praise & worship” dance as well. Through dancing, the Lord began to use me to heal and deliver people. Then one year after our marriage, the Lord sent us back to Quebec, where we were both from, to work as missionaries. This is where our journey began! From there, we began to work in a Christian church in Lévis (near Quebec City) and a few months later in the village of St-Malachie where the Lord guided us to purchase our first home.
Through our various workplaces, the Lord used us to evangelize a great deal. After five years, God sent us to Mexico where we worked with the "Casa de mi Padre" ministry and then afterwards with the "Torre Fuerte" ministry. With the "Torre Fuerte" ministry, we began to visit indigenous communities located in remote and isolated areas in the mountains. Everywhere we went, I would evangelize on the streets and danced for God at church services. For Gaétan's part, he would preach the Word, give words of knowledge and prayed for people.
Presently, we are our missionaries in Mexico and serving the Lord with all our heart!
